Health Canada recalls popular sweatshirts

Health Canada has recalled various Helly Hansen sweaters and hoodie models due to the risk of the material catching on fire. 128,680 units of the affected product were sold in Canada from old from August 2019 – 2022.

“The affected products, which incorporate brushed cotton fabrics that have undergone a specific treatment, either do not or may not comply with the Textile Flammability Regulations,” Health Canada stated on its website.

However, as of January 9, 2023, there have been no reports of incidents or injuries in connection with the affected products in Canada or in any other jurisdiction.

“Immediately stop using the recalled Helly Hansen sweaters and hoodies, and then contact the company for a product replacement credit.”
