IPTV Growth Continues in Slovenia

Almost three in five households in Slovenia now use IPTV technology to receive pay-TV services.

According to data published by the regulator AKOS, IPTV accounted for 59.1% of the market as of the end of 2022. Furthermore, it was the only technology that was growing, with all others – cable (35.9%), satellite (4.6%) and MMDS (0.38%) – losing market share.

AKOS also notes that as of the end of last year more than every sixth broadband connection to the internet streamed content at speeds of 100 Mbps or more, with their market share already representing 62% of all broadband connections in terms of data speed transfers.

In addition, AKOS says that as of the end of 2022 there were a total of 148 operators in the country registered to provide electronic communications services.
