As part of the investment round table with the largest American corporations with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, a ceremony of signing bilateral documents was held, the press service of KAZAKH INVEST reports.
So, on September 20, 2022, Samruk-Kazyna and General Electric signed an Agreement on cooperation and partnership on the exchange of experience in the development of electric power generation facilities.
NC KTZ and Wabtec Corporation signed an Agreement on strategic cooperation on the production, supply and maintenance of locomotives, the introduction of digital solutions and the use of green technologies by converting locomotives to gas motor fuel.
Between NC “KAZAKH INVEST” and “General Electric” a Memorandum of Understanding was concluded in the development and implementation of investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the localization of the production of medical equipment.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NC KAZAKH INVEST and Pfizer to localize the production of pneumococcal vaccine.
Three documents were signed between QazaqGaz NC and the American side. In particular, a memorandum of understanding was signed with Honeywell Corporation on the localization of equipment collection (including meters), an automated process control system, purification, drying and processing of sulfur dioxide, digitalization, and personnel training.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Baker Hughes on the issues of localization of maintenance and repair of equipment in Kazakhstan, localization of training of specialists on the basis of the Shymkent Training Plant, industrial generation of electricity from gas, and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions using the latest technologies.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed with Solar Turbines on the issues of industrial development and development of gas fields, provision of advisory services through remote connection to the InSight GCU control program, modernization of existing stations, and expansion of gas transmission infrastructure.
It should be noted that the investment round table with the participation of the head of state was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the United States, “KAZAKH INVEST” together with the US Chamber of Commerce.
Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United States is in the nature of an expanded strategic partnership . The United States is one of the largest investors in the Kazakh economy. The gross inflow of direct investment from the United States to Kazakhstan during the years of independence reached $57.5 billion. At the same time, according to the results of the first quarter of 2022, the inflow amounted to about $1.9 billion, which is twice the figure for the same period in 2021 ($933 million) .
Currently, about 600 joint ventures with US capital are operating in Kazakhstan.
